Last night I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Catalina Cabral and Brendan McCarthy at the Immaculate Conception Church in Washington DC, with the reception held at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
From the moment I met them, I could tell that Brendan and Catalina were going to make a fantastic couple. Catalina’s radiant personality coupled with Brendan’s sense of humor made for a perfect match. The look of pure joy on their faces during the ceremony only helped solidify my initial impressions.
Over the course of the evening I experienced the love that both the McCarty and Cabral families have for their children as well as the bond they formed with each other. The speeches by the brothers and sisters of the bride and groom were both heartfelt and humorous.
And let’s not forget the dancing!
The band, Kaleidoscope, was absolutely amazing and they kept the dance floor packed all night long. Not only that, but they were also genuinely good people. The caterer, Well Dunn Catering, also did an amazing job with the food and kept everyone happy. Last, but certainly not least, Terri and Jeni from Paradigm Event Management did a fantastic job to herding kittens and allowing the wedding party to simply focus on having a great time.
By the end of the evening the guests were still dancing strong and chanting “one more song” to the band. I personally high-tailed it back home after the reception, but I can only imagine what the after-party at the Old Ebbitt Grill was like.
I wish Catalina and Brendan well on their new life together and I can’t wait to share the rest of their photos with them when they return from their honeymoon!
